BISTROTHEQUE WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY

After being together for over 10 years Victoria and James wanted a super laid back day where their guests could relax, enjoy good food and have a good dance. With their ceremony at the distinguished Museum of St Johns followed by an easy going reception at renowned eatery Bistrotheque it was the perfect blend of informality and style.

BRIDAL PREPARATIONS AT A CANAL SIDE APARTMENT

Victoria started the day at home at their Islington apartment situated along Regents Canal. Their apartment boasts incredible views over the water and the open plan space is flooded with light. Huge windows and exposed pipework made an ideal backdrop for the preparation photos as Victoria spent some quality time with her father. It was the perfect opportunity to capture some special moments between them especially when Victoria finished getting ready and revealed the dress. Definitely a shot for the wedding album!

CEREMONY AT THE MUSEUM OF ST JOHNS IN FARRINGDON

In the typical tried and tested fashion of a London wedding we jumped in a black cab and headed over to Farringdon for the ceremony. The Museum of St Johns is a prestigious 16th Century building steeped in 900 years of history. No more so than in the grand Chapter Hall where Victoria and James’ ceremony took place. A magnificent medieval wood panelled hall dotted with portraits of British monarchs and order dignitaries. The ceremony took place under an exquisite chandelier from the Farnese Palace in Rome. After the confetti shot and group photos guests headed to Bistrotheque on a red route master bus.

WEDDING RECEPTION AT BISTROTHEQUE

Bistrotheque is a highly coveted fine dining restaurant housed in a converted clothing factory just off Cambridge Heath Road in East London. The private dining room is a beautifully bright and airy space known for its mix of classic French Bistro and Modern British cuisine. Guests enjoyed champagne and canapés whilst I took a walk with Victoria and James for some portraits around the local area. I love this part of East London and the streets surrounding Bistrotheque were the ideal backdrop for Victoria and James’ London wedding. Old warehouses, colourful doorways and classic East London architecture. Even Bistrotheque itself with its black painted brickwork was a superb setting for the portraits.
